The Communal Pool on Calle Segovia / Avila was converted from a chlorine based pool to a saltwater based system about 6 or 7 years ago.
The water is a lot kinder to skin / hair & eyes etc.
Lovely quality of water for swimming in.
Be careful who you use to do the work for you as there are some right cowboys in the pool business on Camposol.

We have a salt water pool and much prefer it to the chlorine pool. As Roland says, the water is softer, and a pleasure to swim in. The system is controlled and converts salt into chlorine on an as needed basis. Ph levels are also balanced, which seems to keep the water much clearer. We add salt of magnesium in the summer to make the water even softer and better for osteo arthritis. Good luck

I only know one person who has a salt water pool - they regret it and are thinking of converting it back to chlorine-based this year.
They have found that balancing the salt has been difficult and the water has been too acidic. This has then damaged their pool cover, which has had to be replaced.
They have also found it difficult to find someone to maintain the pool when they're not here (it's a holiday home), as most people who undertake pool maintenance have little experience of salt water pools.
So, as you are doing, I suggest you continue to research first...
Hope this helps!

I used to have a saltwater pool in my other house but converted it back to chlorine as it was much easier, also the sacks of salt took up too much room. It is a matter of choice really against a nice saltwater pool or an easy maintenance pool.
