There is the public health consultorio, which is used by people on the Spanish health system. The language at the surgery is Spanish. There is a sign there that says if you don’t speak Spanish, you need to take an interpreter. Sadly, many non Spanish speaking patients insist on going to the surgery and expect the staff to be able to speak English and when they don’t, patients seem to think that saying the same thing in English but louder and louder will mean that the person will suddenly be able to understand English. IMHO, health is too important to put at risk by not understanding what the doctor is saying. There are several interpreters that offer their services. We pay an annual fee to a lady named Debbie Shaw. She arranged appointments and attends the consultation, as well as arranging blood tests etc. we have always found that the staff at the centre are excellent and very professional.
There is also a private medical centre on Sector A. The staff there speak English.
Good luck
