We are due to complete on our house in mid March, any recommendations on building and contents insurance would be very helpful. I have had one quote which seemed excessively high. Also any recommendations on insurance companies in the area.

I filled out the online form and an English helpful lady called me. I paid €120 buildings and contents with €80 excess for my 2 bedroom Rebecca. Can't comment on how they are dealing with a claim though.
Make sure you try and work out the re build cost of the building and not the market value of it. If you give her the size she will work it out for you.
