Puerto de Mazaroon. Bolnuevo. Isla Plana. La Azohia. All good places.

All those areas are particularly good....as was suggested... happy hunting.

Hi , have a look at El Alamillo 15 min walk along the beach to Puerto Mazarron all The stores , shops Petrol station that you would need for every day use 5min drive All way some English people walking around . If your car brakes down at least you will not be stuck . After all why do people come to Spain , to be near a beach . If you need any more info get back to me . Good luck , Kevin .

I don't know Camposol, so can't comment specifically on that area, however, there are some general things to consider:

Budget - obviously critical to your choice; and remember to allow 12%-13% on top of the property price for your fees, taxes, etc. In general, properties on the coast cost more for the same size / style of property as those inland. If you buy on an urbanisation, you will probably have community fees to pay - and if you buy on a golf course then these will be quite high - as you're contributing to the upkeep of the golf course, etc.

How often do you want to visit and do you want to rent it out as a holiday home as well? If you work and get, say, 6 weeks' holiday per year, then you might spend 4 here and still take another 2 week's holiday elsewhere. Flights are reasonably cheap, so there are options for long weekends as well - it very much depends on your personal circumstances. If you plan to rent it out, then there are quite a few requirements to be met, but it's not as much of a nightmare as some people would suggest. If you plan to rent it out, you should probably look near beaches, shops / restaurants as that if what many renters would want.

What do you enjoy doing at home and on holiday? Are you beach or pool people? Can you afford a place with your own pool? Do you play golf?

Your five year old will probably be content playing with you on a beach or round a pool now, but in 7 or 8 years (or sooner) they may want friends to play with and be more independent from you, so you should maybe think ahead too.

Many people on this forum are older and/or retired and many live here permanently, so their approach to a good area or property may be different to someone at your stage of life.

Hope this helps.
