Lords removals done ours.couldnt fault them.

We had televisions, mirrors, treasured ornaments and lots more fragile belongings, all turned up unscathed.

However didn't move nigh on a whole house.

But Lords were absolutely fantastic, on time both ends brilliant customer care with it, couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Having said that it's my opinion, you may choose someone else, but whoever you choose good luck with your move

G.

Thanks that’s great how much did they charge you.

Leginsenoj and Francis57 offer sound advice, Do you need to bring everything? What suits a U.K. residence does not suit a modern Spanish villa unless you opt fir an old country property or finca. Many properties in .Spain come either fully or part furnished so you will end up discarding furniture either your own or the previous property owners.

The property we are buying is unfurnished so will be fetching quite a lot of what we have in the UK apart from Washer Fridge etc as we will but this when we get over to Spain.

Just looking in to my living room now and everything  I see we brought from UK including the wine rack due to quality issues we experienced in 10 years now. Even light fittings and curtains.. Exept ,,smart" TV I bought in Spain few years ago but it's keeping tripping off now as processor seems ,,expired".

Don't know what folks talking about fridges ,,not suitable for high temperatures", I got one from UK, my friends had it without an issue, took my washing mashine and tumbler dryer as they were too good to leave behind, been here fair amount of time working as new.

We moved so many people from UK to Spain or versa versus in the last year and only one thing I can say: everyone got their own reasons to move their stuff and this should be respected regardless. Don't know why so many punters jumping to ,,help" going in to off topics?

Customs clearance required these days to move everything that's for sure so preparation is the key making packing list with the valuation.

Permanent move to UK would be covered with ToR application but from UK I'm afraid is too much bureaucracy to overcome to get a clearance hence most opting for full Customs declaration atracting IVA on the goods.

Sorry for long post

For 4cbm it cost us £1250. That was all our personal items plus TV, printer, large double bird cage and cutlery & china. I don't recommend bringing all your lounge furniture because Spanish properties have sliding doors and windows all over the place and it may not fit. I suggest you get the rooms measurements first. Sometimes a " double bedroom" is not large enough to swing a cat and may only be suitable for a single bed plus furniture.

We used St.Georges European in Gravesend who were really on the ball and delivered when they said they would. No false promises just to get the business.

Don't forget to take out removal insurance as the roads they travel on might be bumpy and cause damage to glassware and fragile items.

Good luck

If you're driving yourself in your private car you still need to declare on the border and there's  a allowances what can you carry without paying the dutys or VAT. You can check allovances on the GOV.UK webside. French might thinks differently about your allowances...

If you're using a courier customs clearance required and IVA  and any duties due has to be paid from UK to Spain as VAT  payable at the point of the import/export so basically when submitting declaration electronically in order to generate GMR as most ports now required.

Full border checks from 1st of January so whatever your means of transportation correct paperwork required.
