Our plan is to rent for a year to find or dream home and area to live in.

I would like to use an immigration service that would take care of all the paperwork in applying for a NLV (non lucrative visa) 

 I would like someone I can contact and put all my questions to so I have a start point with sound legal advice.

So if there is anyone here that cant pass on a reputable company Id be extremely grateful. Preferably a company that maybe based in Scotland,

Don't spend all your energy moaning about how the Spanish do things differently - it's their country and they can run it however they choose to do so. Don't be put off by those who have never integrated or made any attempt to do so and are still complaining about the very things that attracted them to Spain in the first place. Yes, we do have some mosquitoes. Yes, the sun is hot in the summer. Yes, some of the costs might be higher than they are in the UK but the general cost of living well is way lower than in the UK. Eating delicious, freshly-cooked food at very reasonable prices, in local restaurants is one of the great pleasures of living in Spain, that the UK could never match up to. Take a two-hour lunch and really enjoy the food, the wine, and the Spanish way of life. Google is your friend and you can find out population divisions in different areas, local industries, local estate agents, local restaurants, and of course there are lots of forums about, for you to ask people who actually live there. Good luck with your search on don't let the negative people change your mind. There are thousands of us who have lived here for years (38 for me), integrated well and enjoyed every minute and would never even think of returning to live in the UK!
