We’re considering retiring to Spain and like the look of Camposol.  Would you recommend buying a property there?  We have seen some negative comments saying properties have issues.

Thank you

Camposol is very much like Marmite. I would recommend that before you buy a house here, you rent somewhere for a decent length on time so you can see if you like it. Camposol has a long history of problems with its infrastructure, which was never fully completed. Despite that there are over 4000 houses, with a primarily British occupancy, split between full time residents, holiday homes and rentals. Since Brexit, the rules for moving here permanently have changed, so, if you are not aware of these, you should check. Take a look at the website of the Camposol Residents Association at www.Camposol residents.es where you will find a lot of useful information. There are also many Facebook pages, such as Mazarron news and views, preguntas y mas and numerous with the word Camposol in the name, so a search wi find them, as will a similar search on you tube, where there are numerous videos about Camposol. I will end with what I began with and that is to rent before you buy, and if you choose to buy, use a lawyer that is completely independent of the estate agents.
Hope this helps and good luck
