The property currently has a gas fire and we will look to change to a log burner following completion of the purchase. Can anyone recommend a brand / make of fire and someone who can install please

Bought ours from the Chimenea in Mazarron. They have a good size showroom with a huge selection of log burners. They will install and maintain. We have had ours 15 years now and only had 2 call outs.

You might be better looking at a pellet stove.

Cleaner & easier to control.

I have just had one fitted & it is absolutely brilliant.

The price will depend on which one you buy. Go to the showroom and have a look, they have a good range of different ones.

The approximate cost of having a good fan assisted ...pellet or log burner supplied and fitted is around  €1,500.00 ..wood and pellets are also expensive to buy ...everyone I have work on seem to create dust around the house ...and will turn that lovely white paint on the inside of you Villa yellow in no time...

I do not find logs expensive, €140 per ton deliverred  One & a half tons lasts me the winter. The log burners have a seal on the door and if kept in good order you don't get any dust or smoke in the room. Mine was installed in 2003 and I am only just having the door seal replaced. I am very happy with it.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

The OP asked for help regarding installing a wood burner NOT a lecture on the merits of using a wood burner.

Keep on topic.
