It costs 12€ to update your green residencia document to a TIE.

You did ours in the Extranjeros department in Murcia but there may be other options where you live. We used a gestor as we were new to the area and didn't know the ropes here. For us, it was worth it. You can Google for the documents required or go to the Citizens Advice Bureau Spain's Facebook group or website where they have all the latest information available.

Hi there,

If you follow the link below, there is a guide written and based on the personal experience of the author. It really is a simple process and as said above, only costs €12 and two trips to Murcia. Good luck and I hope this helps.

TIE is not required as yet but many places seem to want it rather than green residencia card, or even older, the A4 paper. Possibly a good a idea to do it now that the rush following brexit has died down and before the rush when the changeover is mandatory starts. We are using Fiona Harvey to process ours for us, I know we can do it for  ourselves but prefer to have someone fluent in Spanish and the processes required. Cannot remember her charges but do remember it is worth it to be hassle free.
