Super helpful member
The airport is your best bet...do you Spain car hire.
Hi
Thank you , I have looked up the car hire from the airport and there are lots that do it .
Which is good but so many have a few bad reviews so was wondering what people’s fav car hire normally is ?
Thank you
Rich
Make a list of the car hire companies at San Javier then do a Google search.
Worst by far is Goldcar...................
Hi
Thank you I will do that ,
I will prob have more questions soon .
We are all looking forward to holiday
Thanks
Rich

We used the comparison sites Rentalcars and AutoEurope to find the best prices. I have recently taken to buying extra insurance online before I get to the airport, they will pester you to buy theirs's which cost much more, trying to intimidate by saying that even if someone else bumps your car, you are eligible or that the insurance you have bought means that if you have to pay for a bump, you then need to claim it back - be strong, its scary but I have learnt to stand my ground, never had an accident, but thats what insurance is all about I suppose. I have used Record Go, Firefly and most recently Goldcar (too early to say if Goldcar are good) but I would say Record Go as they actually refunded me for fuel I didn't use. Good luck and happy holidays
Hi
Thank you , that’s very helpful it’s a bit of a mine field looking for car hire so many and lots of small print to read .
Thank you
Rich
Having booked and paid online with my spanish debit card, Firefly refused to give me a car saying that they did not accept my banks debit card and that I would have to pay another €847 if I wanted a car. I took my business elsewhere but it took over 6 months and the threat of a denuncia to get my money back.
Oh no that does not sound good .
Glad you got your money back ,
Think we may go with an airport pick up as it’s our 1st time and use local buses .
The bus timetable looks good with plenty of buses .
Thanks

I always use DoYouSpain.es. Avoid Dickmans.
ps. Alicante is cheaper.
