If its not too quiet I fancy living in Puerto de Mazarron really. Obviously there's a lot to consider like Medical, Dentist(speaking english) and
other things. we are going down there in a few weeks to see for ourselves.

From personal experience the medical centre at the port is first class. The weather in the winter can be fantastic during the day, but be prepared for it to turn cold when the sun goes down. That said, I have often sat on my terrace in the evening with light clothes etc. I think it's a bit warmer by the sea than inland, but sometimes the winter can be really cold in Spain. Get a house that is well insulated as many are, and have adequate heating, even if you're only visiting for the odd week.

I think if you buy further south from the Orihuela Costa you will find it very quiet. I thought I wanted more Spanish but have subsequently found when I visited certainAreas, which previously I'd been prejudiced against, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Cabo Roig / La Zenia and Villa Martin there was so much more to do. The streets are prettier and better kept plus the beaches are obviously the med which is much better than the Mar Menor. The area from Lo Pagan down is less developed, and less touristy certainly, but with that comes less facilities, less investment in the area etc. I am near Los Alcazares which is one of the biggest towns but it is still very quiet outside of the holidays. I'm here now and the weather is just as good in both areas. Keep an open mind and visit all areas. It's a big decision.

do you know the name of the medical centre please at the port? I need to enquire if they take Adeslas medical insurance.
Also, do you know how people are affected by all the cruise ships which dock every year in Cartagena, approx. 150 I believe?
thnk you

Dentist speaking English in Puerto de Mazzaron and not expensive, day centre is near bus station, I think is only one down here. No A&E, it's only in Cartagena (I know, unfortunately).

Hi every one...my husband and I live in javea at present. We are thinking of moving further south to Cartagena or Puerto de mazarron as its
pretty down there and warmer in the winter etc. and to be nearer to friends.
We are uncertain whether its best to live full time in Mazarron or Cartagena. We are both semi retired. It would be nice to live near some brits .
Would appreciate any replies with some advice please.
Thanks.
Hi
Depends where your friends are? Take a look at that area, also depends what exactly your looking for?
I have read your posts and it seems you want your cake and eat it to!
1) You don't want to be near to may British people
2) You do want to be near British people
3) You don't want it to quite
4) You don't want it to busy
5) Judging by all the questions you have placed on here!
6) What you do want is someone to do your reasearch for you!
7 What YOU need to do is your own reasearch and ask all theese questions online !
Google is a wonderful thing... your semi retired so nothing stopping you!
The further down the coast the warmer it is....
Look on the website of ... "a place in the sun" ... it's very informative....and you can reasearch much more that way than asking questions on here. If this reply sounds harsh it isn't intended to, it is intended to help you make a decision.... a decision that's correct for you. What/where /when /Why/Who helped you make the decision to live where you are now??
We're on Camposol and love it! It has a mixture of nationalities and it's great... lots of activities to keep you occupied.... summer and winter...yes mostly English, come take a look, but do not judge a book by its cover.
