What amenities are available

Cehegin has a population of about 16,000. There are plenty of bars and a few restaurants. Also a few pizza and kebab takeaways. No Indian restaurant :-(  There is a selection of shops including several supermarkets, hairdressers etc which you would expect to find in a small-ish  town. A museum too. No cinema though.

Local Police station and Guardia Civil station. Bus station. Nearest railway station is Calasparra to the north of us.

There is a municipal Sports Centre with indoor pool in the town and playing fields with an outdoor pool (open in the summer) on the outskirts of the town. Also privately run gyms.

Cehegin has a Health Centre with an Urgencia department which is open 24 hours. There are several farmacias in the town, one is always open

The nearest hospital is at Caravaca, a few kilometres to the west of Cehegin. There is an A&E unit there and a good selection of  out-patient clinics. For anything specialised/serious there is the Arrixaca Hospital close to Murcia city.

There are quite a few British expats here but they count as a small percentage of the population. This is a Spanish town, if you don't speak the language, you would be expected to take an interpreter for anything official.

Yes, Wednesday is market day. And …. forgot to say there are 2 vets in the town as well.
