Good Morning

We purchased a property on sector B no problems  easy access to the shops restaurants bars ect great place to retire to or just as a holiday home folks here on Camposol are brill great community lots of things to do as was said before there are a few small problems but like anywhere you get that sometimes things are now looking up as the CDIP are contesting the next election 2019 so we hope to get a few candidates on the council so we can have a lot more clot on Mazzaron council and hopefully get things sorted out as Ive said before time and again Camposol is like Marmite you either love it or hate it so let me just end by saying 4000 people love it here and we get lots of holiday makers coming for a visit so don't always believe what the press say about it or utube or television come on over and see us

Hi I'm new to this site I've read and seen videos on you tube about camposol and various problems have the Spanish ........ government done anything to help these home owners we are looking to buy a property here and wondered which is the best area

chris

I would say that if you have done your research it will show that only a small proportion of the properties on Camposil are subject to the subsidence and the ongoing legal debate to get things resolved continues

We bought 2 years ago on Sector D and currently use the villa as a holiday home but with intentions to move when we retire. to date we have had no issues with the property and really love it. Personally I would recommend Camposol to anyone.

Hi Chris

A number of properties were built on reclaimed land. For example the rambla that runs through the centre of sector D was filled in then built on without being compacted properly, consequently some properties have had subsidence problems. Some properties on upper C have also been affected. My advi...

...ce would be to look at the area surrounding the property you are looking to buy to see if any of the neighbouring properties show evidence of damage. BTW we own a property on D and it is unaffected by any subsidence.

We live on upperC and have no problems either

Problems are on Camposol but there are a lot more positives

We live on D and so far have not experienced any problems and we are surrounded by a number of families that live here permanently and they also have not spoken of any subsidence

Again, I think this was a limited issue many years ago and the rules and how property is sold has changed for the better so fewer issues are being experienced

We've owned a place on C2 for eight years now with only minor problems (movement of concrete is inevitable) now we want a bigger place but we love Camposol so much that we are looking here again.  Plus, you can't get as much for your money elsewhere.

Thank you for your reply.  This may sound like a ridiculously stupid question, but, why are the properties SO cheap in Camposol and why are so many brits desperate to sell up and go back to the UK??

There are many ongoing issues at Camposol and despite a vigorous campaign by its residents including long-standing legal action, the local [and national] government agencies have been painfully slow in both recognising or acting on the residents complaints. This includes street lighting, road maintenance, rubbish collection despite the residents there paying rates.

The original developer building houses on some of the land without the necessary permits will not have helped.

Brexit I'd assume also plays a part.

I viewed several houses, some of them very nice indeed given the prices asked.

There will be deals to be had. Just ensure you have sound independent  legal advice before committing to anything would be my tip.
