Note, there has been considerable pushback on the Murcia Today reporting of the latest rain.

While the Town Hall issued a Red Alert, and flood barriers were erected by many as a precaution, the real damage was much further north with Valencia and Alicante suffering very badly.
I live in the Los Alcázares old town near the Rambla, and recorded 60mm of rain over the two days in my rain gauge and I understand there were similar measurements in the Campo de Cartagena (inland). (note added, one of my friends on the western outskirts of town recorded 95mm)
The Ramba performed as it was designed to do, it ran up to 400mm deep during embedded thunderstorms, but dropped down quickly and had virtually ceased flowing this morning.
Contrary to reports, the streets are not all coated in mud, there are a few which been washed down, but its business as usual. The promenade cafes are crowded and life goes on.

When i see any weather incidents concerning the town of Los Alcazares i contact and rely on the town people. These individuals are the real source of accurate information. They live there! They know what's going on and they have always been very helpful. Many of them have helped out concerned owners who are back home by visiting their homes here, videoing or photographing their condition and passing it on to them and putting their minds at rest. They know and can pass on up to the minute information. I know of many owners who had sleepless nights worrying but were relieved by help from locals. These are your guardian angels. So if you are concerned contact someone you might know in the area It is in everyones interest to look after this beautiful town and its people.
