I bought in old town LA in January this year and had I asked the same questions and received the same answer as given here I would have heeded the warnings and bought elsewhere. Yes my home has been devastated along with so many more, and I've given my time for others where I can too. Personally, I would thank Rascalmate for the detail and warning provided.

Good evening BobG, so sorry to hear of the position you are in. I have been working with a team shovelling tons of rubbish for the last few days, back there tomorrow.
I have been moved to tears with the state of residents accomodation ( and I am a large man) but I understand the Spanish spirit. They will recover , LA will be a great again.
Some friends of ours as a routine before they return to the uk move most of their ground floor possessions upstairs, especially paperwork. It takes an hour or so but he considers it worth the effort.
He like many unfortunately did not realize the full potential of these storms.
Thank you for your comments and I wish you all the best. Kindest regards Al

Hi Martha, it depends where you are staying. If you want and if no one else replies pm your details and I will try to find out for you. There are very defined flood areas but the devastation is very upsetting.
Have a look on Youtube or the Facebook page, many videos are now being posted as residents get electric and internet back.
Weatherwise it is very warm (English hot!) Overnight temperatures have been +20c
Tonight the air temperature is currently 24c at 23.00pm So if you do get out here you definately need sunscreen/creame. It is very hot in the sun.
All the best, Al

Hi Martha, you are close to Torre Pacheco?
The Town suffered much devastation as unfortunately it was deluged by heavy rain and flooding.
Can you possibly contact anyone you know in 525?
I have no accurate information to give you on this particular area unfortunately, as I am travelling from home to LA to help with the teams carrying out recovery.
You say you are a regular visitor?
If you rent try to get in touch with your Landlord for up to date info or if you have your own property do you have any contact details for your neighbours?
If you search for 525 Torre-Pacheco there is now information pictures and videos in google and youtube which may help you
Best of luck anyway, regards, Al
