Hi, I think you may have to rethink your plans as the power needed to run an electric shower is far greater than the power your property receives. Electricity in Spain is a million miles off UK power which is measured in potencia. IE. Uk homes are run on anything from 15kw to 25 kW all the time so you can have that many appliances on without overloading the usage. However in Spain your potencia (which will be on your invoices) will range from 3.3kw(we are on this as we are non residents and the higher the potencia the higher the standing charge), upto 10kw max which a shower would require 8/9 kW to run it. The majority of residents are on 5.5/5.75kw so not enough power being received to use a shower. I wish you luck in achieving your plan!
Regards
Pauline.

Hi Pauline
Thanks for the info. We are having solar panels fitted and will discuss with the panel company.

We recently had solar panels fitted ... 14 panels each of 2.28m x 1.13m (around 36 square metres in total).
They produce (theoretically) around 7.5kw in total.
But the panels are governed by a Huawei SUN2000-6KTL-L1 invertor (the largest domestic Huawei) with a capacity of 6kw.
We get 6kw of solar in good sunlight (monitored on our phone app). We get less early/late in the day, or if is cloudy.
6kw will not run an instantaneous electric shower (and if you check Leroy Merlin, you will find that they are not sold here).
But you can run an electric storage water heater to provide mains-water-pressure showers.
Alternatively, you might be able to power instantaneous electric showers (if you can get them) from batteries, but this is an expensive way to go just to have a shower.
As Pauline suggests above, to make the most of a solar installation (i.e., to be able to export surplus power) you might need to check your supply potencia.

Our solar system is about the same but with 18 panels. We can have an input of around 6kW too on a really sunny day. at the moment there is a paltry 1.01kW and this has been the story for the past week or so. It won't be possible to be run any electric showers on that!
