Hi. I am looking to buy a used car to leave at the airport. I would appreciate any advice on what documentation should come with it and any other advice or tips people have.

A reputable dealer will talk you through and handle all the paperwork and what emissions category your car is in etc...tax should be paid up/ advised if not and valid ITV (MOT) ..used cars are expensive in Spain so be prepared and ask all the questions you would as if buying one in England ( insurance) ..

There is a company called Carfax and for a small fee will give you all details of the cars you are looking at, how many owners, any debts, has it been in an accident has it been stolen etc ect
A few years ago I went to a main car dealer and liked a car asked details service history, how many owners, tax, itv etc and was told it had 2 owners the last being an English man, I checked the registration on Carfax and found the car had 7 previous owners , the garage reply was we didn't check!

Be very careful buying cars privately. The systems in Spain are very different, and you might find debts lodged on the car, and the vendor not complete the change of ownership.
Better using a reliable dealer like Andy at YourCarMarMenor in Torre Pacheco.

We purchased our car from Autohouse La Manga just outside Los Belones and we cannot recommend them enough. They took care of everything for us and ensured all the documents were ready when we returned to uk. They are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They have a range of vehicles to suit different choices and prices. Talk to Andrew in the office.
