Hi everyone, looks like we may he buying an apartment here. We hope to spend some time over there to decorate and furnish but we dont expect to really use it until we retire. Is it better to short term rent out or let as a holiday property? What are people experiences? Many thanks in advance.

For holiday lets you’ll need a tourist licence and every guest has to be registered with the local police. You’ll need a management company and cleaner….and theres 24% tax to pay on all income with no offset expenses. As nonresidents it may not be worth the hassle.

Hi, that's why we are considering letting too. Do you have any experience or knowledge of this?

It is not worth the hassle. Renting prices are very low and if you deduct the income tax, keyholders fee and renting company fee not much will be left. And then I am not talking about the mess some renters make.
