Hi.

Once we’re allowed to fly over, we’re looking to stay at our new apartment in Lo Pagan for a month at a time. Can anyone recommend the best place for cheapest car hire which would also pick the us up from Alicante airport

Hi

Take a look online at https://www.doyouspain.com they list a number of rental companies.

As you are probably aware they all try to catch you out on damages so either take your own insurance out or theirs but whatever you do, take photographs of every part of the car as proof, any doubt or issues, ensure they are aware before you leave the airport car park.

We always used Firefly but they are all as good (or bad) as each other.

There is another company called COYS https://www.coysrent-a-car.com that seem to have good feedback, we never used them.

We hope you get to Lo Pagan asap...!

Villamartin rent a car (you will find them on Facebook ) rent older cheaper cars that include basic insurance. They do collection from the airport.

I chose the cheaper option of taking the bus to Torrevieja and meeting them there- although I don't know if this is an option during the busy months.

Their cars are not new with perfect paint and they don't go over the car with a magnifying glass looking for little scratches or dents when you return it.. I didn't look fully into what their insurance does and doesn't cover.

You can email them on regcarhire@yahoo.co.uk

I cannot find their website - they use their Facebook site. They are a small personal business and have a limited amount of cars so you will probably need to book in advance during busy months.

I have hired a car off them twice. all with no problems. They seem trustworthy and are English speaking but often the call goes to a Spanish answer phone so I just call back later. It's better to contact them on Facebook.
