Hi,

I don't mean to offend anyone here, but I'm not sure how to put this...

We bought a villa 20 years ago in Los Altos, Torrevieja, we use this as a holiday home and a few lets in the summer months. The problem we have is that everything is now 'British'  ie cooked breakfast, Sunday roasts, grey track suit bottoms.

So, we have now bought a townhouse in Lo Pagan which has lovely places to eat and drink and you can't tell the nationality of others by their behaviour!

Regards,

 Jim

Many thanks for your comments Jim. 😁

I have a place in San Pedro, it is ideally situated close to the AP7 motorway and the walks through the nature reserve are stunning. Lo Pagan is much much quieter then Torre with less "tourists" which is why i chose it 16 years ago. Your shout., Do you want noisy or peaceful. I know whenever i go...

... to Torre, I am glad to get back to my place. Good luck!

Many thanks for your comments 😁

...cannot add to comparative  values , I have only done a day trip to Torrevieja but visit Lo Pagan May/June + Sept/Oct for last 13 yrs. Im in my 70s and the point I want to make is how utterly safe my wife and I feel in Lo Pagan. There is regular visibility of both Guardia Civil and Policia Local. We have holidayed in a fair few places and Lo Pagan stands out in that regard. You may just want to consider this.

Hi Trish,

If it's any help to you we have lived in both.....going back to 2002.

There is absolutely no comparison with Lo Pagan in a different category entirely. We settled in this tranquil area since 2015 and are so delighted that we did....it seems very quiet...and it is mostly....but if you want excitement it is not far away.....also much better value and because it is primarily a Spanish residential area it is much more respectable than the busier Torrevieja with all its traffic and nuisance holidaymakers only interested in their own enjoyment

Brian.

Not easy describe Lo Pagan as it's mostly the feeling of comfort and safety that enshrined the place. It can be very quiet off season but still life goes on and the general community is pleasant and helpful. One has everything that's available but I suppose the real gem is the proximity of Mar Men or and the tranquillity it brings. I would suggest living there for a month around Eastertime to get the real feel

Best of luck

Seamus

Has many have said, Lo Pagan is a more laid back traditional Spanish area, a lot quieter in the winter months.

Torrevieja is more hustle and bustle especially in the Summer months with a lot more English ex Pats, a lot to do but depends what you want, ie more hotels too.

If you are really unsure I would do a short term let in both areas to get a feel of what you want.

If you make the wrong choice it’s no big deal, but on a long term let it will be.

It’s all down to personal choice at the end of the day, but our choice is definitely Lo Pagan with its traditional friendly feel than a more English Torrevieja. (A mini Benidorm)
