As there appears to be no link on this post, I pursued it and apparently at the end of July this will come into effect.( Inshallah)

Once everything is agreed that English driving licences can be exchanged for a Spanish one, this may take time as things move slowly in Spain at times, does one then have to take the medical before you can apply to make the exchange. Not seen anyone mention the medical. I have had to take another medical each time I renew my Spanish licence, at a designated centre. Includes hearing, sight, medical history and reaction times etc. Two of my associates, both around 80 years old, have recently had their licences revoked due to medical problems . I need to renew my own Spanish licence in December and will have to take the medical etc.
