There are probably thousands of traffic laws, but who is going to enforce them ? The police simply don't have the resources. If they were to catch every offender, they would need a million police officers in London alone. The number of driving offenders caught every day is probably less than 1% of all offenders.

There were many occasions when police looked at me while stopping at traffic lights, but never warned me for not wearing seat-belt, let alone fine me, not once in over 30 years. This is not just luck, it's because they don't bother.

I remember when I was driving well over a year without insurance. Was never caught.

Don't tell the police now.

Given you have admitted to breaking the law on many occasions (and for several different offences) the original post certainly shows a real 'brass neck' attitude!

Just continue to break the law (not sure about your claim of 'forgetting' is legitimate now) and wait for the fines to roll in.

I honestly forgot. When you don't wear seat-belt for over 30 years, you'll get used to it.

I'm not sure if the OP is winding everyone up or not, but I have come across this attitude before with Brits in Spain who seem to do everything they moan about the immigrants in Britain doing, and then brag about it. I'm pleased they are clamping down in Spain, after all, we all have to share the roads and it's the law abiding ones who have higher insurance because of these scroungers!

Thankfully the UK is slowly catching up using technology, as are the Spanish, so a police officer doesn't have to be present to catch them. Cars are being crushed as a penalty, but in my opinion they all should be! A cash fine is obviously not a deterrent for some.

Maybe his lack of respect for the law and others was caused by such an event 30 years ago?
