Thank you PeterC. We are not selling through an agent, so just solicitors  - but I don't know who pays Notary and I also have heard that a certain amount is taken and kept by solicitor until the Revenue are satisfied (no doubt take a while!)

Angie

If you've employed a solicitor to deal with your sale, I'd let them sort it all out for you, that's why you pay such a high fee.

Hi, Yes we will but I was trying to calculate approx what we would have left from an offer - depending on exchange rate too, at the time of course.

I'm just going through this process again, be prepared for the unexpected......it is Spain. Again, if you're employing a solicitor they should tell you, that's what their fee covers.

I always leave the money in Spain and put a target on the exchange company at a level I'm comfortable with. I use the same company each time, I can put you in touch when your'e ready if you like, just pm me.  Best of luck.

Hi

Thanks Rma44. Yes I have used Moneycorp before, and probably will again,  but I very much doubt that the exchange will change much in the near future. To think we bought at €247 to £1!! Good old days 🙄.
