Stripping heavily varnished doors.

Hello everyone, I love my little house in LA but would quite like to brighten the place up a bit by changing the doors from about 30 years of varnish to white gloss. Has anyone on here had success doing this? Obviously it’s the frame surrounds as well and I don’t really want to raise a dust storm in the house, I do generally do the work myself but are there places that “strip and dip”?
