Just a thought, British passports only last 10 years so the information will need updating as they expire, because passport numbers change with each renewal.

Just to reiterate the point someone made earlier ensure the will states that it is administered under British law not Spanish.

Concerning Spanish wills - This information is taken from E&G Solicitors in Spain quote:
Is an English Will valid in Spain?Spanish law recognizes a Will made lawfully in any jurisdiction. That means that if you make an English Will relating to all of your worldly assets, it will include your Spanish property.In view of this, it would seem that a Spanish will is unnecessary provided an English will drawn up by a solicitor is made.Any comments would welcome.

It is safer to have a Spanish will, as this is registered, so on death the registrar will check and see that it exists - unlike in the UK where the ‘system’ is that someone rummages through the house to see if they can find one, if they can be bothered!

You’re absolutely right, Peter. I would underline other comments about ensuring the Spanish Will includes the terminology that it accords to English Law. If not, then Spanish Law regarding inheritance will apply.
