Not covered, but sorted now, didn't cost a fortune so hopefully all good.

Well Iberdrola were worse than useless. Never returned calls,never responded to emails,hopefully it's the first and last time I have to deal with them. When I did eventually get through to them they told me I had to ring the Distribution company. They quickly came,checked the problem wasn't electricity coming into the property,it was a faulty trip switch, the bloke replaced it, checked that I could switch all my electrical appliances on without any problems. I have had a call from Iberdrola just now,they apologised for not returning the calls and emails. So basically,if Iberdrola had returned my call I could have had the problem solved on the day instead if 2 days with no electricity.

The person I eventually spoke to at Iberdrola made it sound like the Distributor was totally separate. Oh well, hopefully it's the first and last time I have to contact them.

One of the problems of not having insurance cover is unfortunately what has happened to you. An insurance company would have had an electrician to you within an hour and as you say it was a faulty trip switch so the only cost you would have had to pay would have been for the switch 🙂

Anyway I am pleased that it is all ok now

Yes,all good now. Had to go to the pub to charge my phone over 2 days,so not such a bad thing after all!
