Hi

We have a property in Los Urrutias and it is quiet but we like that its more authentic Spanish town rather than holiday town.  We love the city of Cartegena over all  other places and it is easily accessible on the bus. As far as Mazzaron is concerned the port is fab and the beach is lo...

...vely, theres lots of bars and shops and its a working spanish town with plenty or urbanisations if you want to be near expats.  Everyones idea of bliss is so different consider posting again with a list of things that are important to you and im sure people will jump on and tell you what areas tick those boxes.

Thank you this is so helpful I will check these places out when I can travel to Spain

Hi Fio,

Thank you so much for your reply!

We have been thinking a lot about what is important to us and right up there is a fair sized town/ village that doesnt shut down in the winter and retains spanish traditions of fiestas etc but with decent shopping, bars, cafes and restaurants. Ideally, geographically, would be in a sheltered location, (sheltered from winds), someone once mentioned to me that spain is a cold country with a warm sun, its a warm winter sun we are looking for without the breeze!! The other important part of the location is that t isnt too far up a hill/mountain so there's less rain fall but without fear of coastal flooding.

Ideally, like most other people, we would like to be close to the coast, as in a few kms away with all the benefits of seaside amenities close by too.

Also good transport links to other major cities would be good.

We instinctively would prefer a house rather than an apartment, however with neighbours closeby, not a cortijo or finca that tend to be further away from towns and villages and in my experience more remote.

Bit of a list there.....but that's the ideal.

Id be grateful for any suggestion of locations the community here could suggest that meet some of our wish list!

Many thanks,

Alice

Hi can anyone help.?

we’re looking at buying a house inLos Urrutias after lockdown, and looking on the map there’s two swimming pools next to each other at the end of the beach. Are they open to the public or membership, does anyone know?
