All things being equal, on Thursday there will be an announcement stating if you are double jabbed then no quarantine required but still antigen test to enter the UK and only a single day 2 pcr test

If you are not double jabbed and return to the UK then you have to quarantine for 10 days meaning you cannot return for just a week

We fly back in August and have been told that the antigen test with valid certificate is totally acceptable to fly to the UK.  Contacted the medical centre on A and they said just book an appointment and the cost is 40 euro

BTW, don't forget to order your required PCR test to take when back in the UK as you should then receive a code that is required on your form that is needed to return to UK ...

...

That's great thankyou 👍

Many thanks  I read you had to have day 2 and day 8 test in UK but how does this work if you are only going for a week ? Regulations gets confusing

If you read the gov site it still says you need to purchase day 2 and 8, even though may not be there! It’s ridiculous really. The situation is changing all the time, so it’s best to keep checking. We went back to the UK in May and returned beginning of June and are hoping to go back in August. We should here more the end of the week from UK government re changes to those that have had both vaccinations and returning from amber countries. We were hoping Spain would change to green soon, but that’s unlikely.

What is on the gov.uk website is accurate at the time of writing. The indications from the government before we left the UK plus paper reports today indicate that double vaccinated people will not have to quarantine from an amber country and will only need the 2 day pcr test

To be confirmed

Only nhs approved vaccine done in the uk is accepted to travel to the uk from amber listed countries. Cant see what the difference is , but just been announced.

Everything I have read still advises the antigen test is acceptable before returning to the UK.

And to be truthful the first line of your comment doesn't make sense to me as how are you expected to get an NHS approved vaccine in Spain

What it means is if you have the vaccine in spain, you still have to isolate and have 2 tests if you travel to the uk. If you have vaccine in uk travel to spain on arrival back to the uk you do not need to isolate and only need one test.

Totally wrong. The new changes mean if you have been double vaccinated in the UK and return from an Amber country then there is no isolation period, you need to have a test in Spain to board the plane and antigen is acceptable and you only need the 2 day test when you return to the UK

Your first part is exactly what I said. If you've been double jabbed in spain and have covid passport you have to isolate in uk and have 2 tests. Check the news.
