Hi Guys

Does anyone have a recommendation to deter wasps in the swimming pool please? I’ve tried Fairy Liquid but they’re persistent and in this heat, we’d like to cool off in the pool. We’re at Mazarron Country Club

Try a squirt of Fairy liquid (other brands are available) won't prevent them but kills them as they can't take off

Thanks for your help. We did this and it helped a little. As you say, they land and can’t take off again so die in the water. We found out there’s a nest in an adjacent property that is not vacated at present so guess we’ll have to  use Fairy everyday. I hope it doesn’t affect the pump?

We found that if you leave them alone and don’t scream and wave around they leave you alone.

But unfortunately even a dead one can sting you.

We put an old small container with some jam or marmalade in it near or to the side of the pool ( where you are not going ) and they seem to flock to that. It worked wonders last Summer. Haven’t had them this year yet. Good Luck

The advice I gave you was given to me by my pool cleaner at my last property so it won't affect your pump

Thanks Jackie. We also got a brown paper bag and blew into it then hung it from a tree. We didn’t have as many. We’ll see what happens today 😎🐝
