Hi I am making a mozzy free area 4m x 3m, and about 2.4m high.  The roof will be 9cm x 4cm wooden 'joists' about 1m apart.  I wish to fix mozzy mesh over the top and sides.  I am considering using a staple gun, using 15mm staples, as opposed to large head tacks, or wooden strips to secure the mesh.  Has anyone any other suggestions? or experience of doing same thing, ta Gary

The staples might pull through the net when it gets windy ??

Why not use wooden strips secured by the staples ??

Just a couple of thoughts.

My wife and I did a similar DIY project 3 years ago. Based on the result (no flies/mozzies, and a much nicer life) we had one professionally built last year.

If you are using nylon netting, the problem is wind. We used a "gathered curtain" technique, with plastic curtain hooks/rail.

When it was very windy (several times during the life of the DIY structure), the curtain hooks broke, but everything else remained intact. Had we used a firm fixing of some sort, the netting would probably have torn.

The "professional" system uses glass fibre netting (stronger, less wind resistance, more light transmission, etc.).
