is it correct that as of today you can not travel out of the Murcia region to another ? ie from Murcia to Mojacar ? thanks.
It is absolutely not true.
The provinces which affect us, Murcia, Almeria as part of Andalucia and Alicante as part of Valencia will have in due course the ability to impose inter provincial travel but as Chrissy says, there are no plans to do so at this time.
Travel is unrestricted.

We phoned our insurance company, Nationwide Building Society - (the UK Insurance) last week and they said we could still travel to Spain based on the UK govt guidelines on the website. We would still be covered for the Covid virus as well as our usual medical cover. However, they will not cover c...

...ancellation of flights , hotels booking and car hire etc., Luckily, Ryanair offers free cancellation on fligths and I believe car hire also. If you book hotels now, you can get also free cancellation. It is best for each individual to phone up their own insurance company to clarify before booking anything as the situation is very fluid. We are now booking our flights to leave for Spain. Hope that helps......
Yes Ryanair offers free cancellation but if you want your money refunded then I hope you have a lot of patience! Our flights were cancelled in April and May. We are still awaiting the refunds. Ryanair gave us the choice of refund or vouchers but dont seem keen to refund! Now we have asked our bank to intervene.

Agreed. Most if not all travel firms would prefer credit vouchers as the money is still in their hands. We cancelled our cruises or got cancelled and took over 14 weeks to get our money back. However, the difference is that Ryanair tickets cost only a few pounds, I suppose we could accept vouchers. We have a home in Spain and we can definitely use the vouchers sometime in the future. As they say, if in doubt, do without. We only want a holiday and fun and a bit of sun, not hassle.

That’s strange, we had april, july flights cancelled and even some, were they cancelled flights on Fridays, we got all our refunds back by the end of July. Same as a number of friends did. I would get on to them straightaway!!!

I am considering whether to travel anyway.
I'm normally quite risk-averse, however, if I think about what travel insurance covers:

Cancellation - if my flight is cancelled, the airline will refund me (eventually).
Lost baggage - I don't carry much of value.
Medical - this to me has always been the chief reason for travel insurance. The EHIC card is still valid until 31st December 2020, which provides cover for any urgent treatment in Spain. However, if (God forbid) anything really serious happened, it doesn't cover repatriation; and I have also heard of examples where people have used a private doctor or anbulance by mistake, which isn't covered.
I think the governement will change their advice, just not sure how soon...
staysure and battleface provide cover for in spain currently
