Hi.  When securing temporary residency visa the NLV, how long do you have to receive shipped personal/used household goods without any tax/duty charges? Also, can items be stored in Spain (eg in a storage facility rather than your home) for an indefinite period without any tax/duty charges (obviously there would be storage costs) ?  Any other advice on this matter would be most helpful! Thank you 😊.

Hi Barbara, I would advise that you join this group on Facebook and ask the question there. T admins are very knowledgable and can point you in the right direction.

Generally speaking, you can move items as part of a one time permanent move to Spain, without paying any Import Duty, IVA, etc.

You must have owned the items in the UK for more than 6 months prior to the move and not dispose of them (sell them) within the first 12 months of living in Spain. The items must also arrive in Spain within 6 months of your arrival.

You can pretty much bring anything, as long as it's for personal, not business use, including vehicles.
