Seriously, maybe those who think it’s unimportant would like to buy books with dreadful standards of grammar and spelling?

(Yes, of course there are people who are dyslexic or have difficulties, but I still find it hard to believe that it accounts for such a high percentage of errors.)

I suppose I found it quite comforting that someone else actually thought it mattered.

Eye (sic) couldn't agree more! Spelling as well as incorrect use of words has long been an irritating factor when reading posts on the internet. We can't even blame the education system as I believe most contributors are past the first flush of youth :o)

I have had many an interesting conversation with 'new style' teachers who insisted that punctuation, grammar and spelling wasn't important! really? - Perhaps they should run free classes in English as well as Spanish? :o)  ...
