Hi Glenda, Yeah, PhilTox identified it as an amaryllis in an earlier reply, i'm going to have to brush up on knowledge, thanks for your reply.

Leaves and flower bud are all wrong for the common varieties of strelitzia (bird of paradise), possibly a clivia. Lovely looking plant, hoping to put a bank of these in ourselves once allowed out.

Hi Pixies2, thanks for your reply, PhilTox did identity it as an Amaryllis in a later post, if you look back at previous posts on this topic you will see photos i have sent of the Amaryllis in flower, you are right it is a beautiful plant
