Someone posted that tests are available at the Centre Medico, Virgin de la Caridad, San Javier...I think the telephone number is 968191800 ..it is opposite the Spar supermarket in SJ......will be checking it out myself for a flight in 3 weeks time.

I read you can get PCR test done at Alicante Airport. You make an appointment online in advance. Get PCR test on day of your departure and its ready within the hour.

We booked also at Centre Medico, Virgin de la Caridad, San Javier, but you need to book in early as appointments get booked up £30 for test with certificate to fly home to Uk. We booked in 10 days advance.

Do you mind me asking which test you had for €30 which gave you a ‘fit to fly’ certificate? Another member has posted it cost them €120 for PCR at same place.

I’m enquiring as I want to fly my 88 yr old parents to UK for the the summer months as it gets too hot for them now. They will panic if they think they have taken the wrong test!
TIA

No problem, on the uk government website on entering the uk, it says type of test and Antigen Test is on the list as long as it is from a provider with a certificate. This is only 30 E

Thank you for the clarification; it’s tying me in knots trying to sort out all the paperwork they have to bring with them to re-enter Spain and they are residents! Plus Madrid write to them informing them they’d need a GHIC card to travel to UK, but when I looked into it I was told that would not give them medical cover! They required a copy of the form that they were issued over 20 years ago which gave them the same healthcare services in Spain as they would have had in UK. One copy held in Spain and one in UK so the UK office sent them one after they requested it. A complete nightmare with Covid and Brexit 🥴.

Yes, that's what I meant.

Many thanks.

Hi Frank21,

as promised an update on my test and flight…

We attended the medical centre on Friday 2nd at 7pm for our test, only us and one other man there awaiting a test, €30 for the Antigen Flow test. For some unknown reason we weren’t seen to on time however after a 15min wait we had our tests and after another 10/15 minutes our certificates stating we were negative, both in Spanish and English. We parked across from the centre in the Spar/Pardo car park, 3c a minute, our bill was €1.40….so just over 40 minutes all together (and yes if you buy something in the shop you don’t have to pay for parking)…there's also parking on the right a little further down.

When checking in a bag at Alicante airport the ground steward asked for our check in details, proof of the Passenger Locator Form and to see the Antigen Test certificate. Once she was happy with all she issued us a boarding pass and on it noted (with an OK and signature) that we had provided all of the required information which meant that when we arrived at the departure gate all that was required was our passport and the boarding pass issued in the airport. That was great as we didn’t have to be stressing trying to locate the different forms on the phone and it speeded up the boarding process.

Of note….it pays off to be well prepared and have everything to hand when either checking in a bag or at the departure gate, saves on the stress and sweating 😓

Good luck…

Hi,  we flew back from Alicante to the UK on the 17th June with Ryanair following our stay in San Javier.

We did not have any bags to check in but still went to the check in desk to show our passenger locater forms and negative antigen certificates (and passport and boarding card). We were then given a small card to show that these had all been checked. We then had to show this at the boarding gate.

I would definitely recommend doing this, even if you have nothing to check in. Those people who didn't were then having to produce all these documents at the boarding gate!

Hope this helps and have a good journey!

Clare

Thanks Clare. It should be the same procedure then from Corvera 🤞. Kim

Hi Kim,

I would imagine so, just a lot quieter! I would still suggest going to the check in desk first and presenting all your paperwork.

If only we could have got flights to and from Corvera!! There are currently no flights from Leeds to Corvera!! 😥

I’m sure I read Ryan Air and Jet Two were no longer operating any flights into Covera  from Leeds Bradford. Might be wrong though, my memory isn’t what it once was 🥴. I used to live in West Yorkshire and used it constantly; it was great!
