Hi all, my mother who is 86 has a green medical card and needs to register with a doctor English speaking if possible in Los Alcazares. Any advice as to how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

What is a green medical card? Has she moved from Andalucia to Murcia, so has the card from Andalucia?

Hi yes previously in Jaen Andalucia, the green card is the medical card thanks.

You need to get this changed to the Murcia version. When we moved up here we took our S1 papers and the Andalucia cards to the Centro de Salud and they organised the changed cards. The system for prescriptions is different here - rather than any farmacia accepting the health card and issuing prescriptions they will scan the bar code on the prescription sheet. It is worth getting Digital Certificates so you can log in to the Patient Portal of the health service and check when the next date for collecting meds is, check upcoming hospital appointments etc.

Virgen del Caridad Centro Clinica privada is on main road into Torre Pacheco on left just before the big roundabout. Just call in and make an appointment. Iv its urgent there is a private doctor makes house calls
