Thanks for that. It’s food for thought!

Hi it has been announced that Barclays Bank  are closing all Uk accounts for people that do not have a Uk address.

I had a current account with a debit card and a Barclays credit card.

Closed both accounts and transferred to my Nat West account which I have my pension paid into allowing me to Transfer to my Spanish Bank via Wise  when euro is to my liking.

Have never paid bank charges in the Uk or my 25 plus years in Spain

Thanks for that. I have a uk address. I now find I can draw cash on Barclaycard CREDIT card but not the debit. Doing this with non sterling withdrawal does not attract interest charges.

Yes I see they will charge no interest provided you pay the balance on the full account but a transaction fee is still applicable.

We'll charge a single non-sterling purchase fee of 2.99% every time you make a purchase abroad. If you withdraw cash in a foreign currency, we'll charge a cash transaction fee of 2.99% (minimum fee of £2.99). You won't be charged any interest, as long as you pay your balance in full by your payment due date.

Hi thanks for your response but I really don't think it applies to me?

I have lived in Spain for over 25 years and was just replying to Bobs problems.
