Barclays card

You should be able to use a Barclays debit card in a Spanish ATM that displays the Visa sign.

Be very careful with the charges that may be made.

The ATM will charge a fee & Barclays will charge a 2.99% Non-Sterling Transaction Fee.

Thanks for that. I don’t know of any Visa ATMs in this region. Perhaps someone could point me in the right direction…

I’m very grateful for your assistance but that link is no good. It lists Banco Popularwhich is now Santander. It lists Santander in Aledo which closed years ago.

Have you spoke to your Bank to see if they can see any Atm declines.It could be if the Atm cannot read chip on your card if the card is damaged.Or you havent changed anything on configuring cards if your using the App where you have turned off Atm withdrawals.

I spoke to Barclays in UK. They told me that the card is to be used at LINK ATMs which I believe only operate in UK.I haven’t seen any Visa machines here. What do thousands of tourists who have Barclays accounts do for cash? I can cope as I have a Spanish account but holiday people would probably not.

Yes, I know all that. No problem with shops or restaurants. It’s only cash that is a problem. I must add that this is only a recent change. I always used to be able to withdraw cash but cannot now.

I have to say I'm unfamiliar with Barclay Card, thank God. I Was appalled to read they charge you 2.99 % I use my AIB debit card in Spain for the past 20 years with no charge. Sorry you're having such difficulties, maybe you should consider moving your account to a better bank !!
