Hi Angie, we also will be in the area soon.  But although we stopped recently in a square not so far away from looking at a property  in Salado, Albanilla and having a quick drink, I cannot find it on googlearth, any clues will be very helpful.

Many thanks

oops, update.

I found it at Plaza de Mahoya, super.

Any ideas on reliable, quite fast basic internet that covers Salado area?

Hi,

I would recommend Abanilla to anyone who loves village life. It has several bars and restaurants.also two supermarkets. It has a fantastic fiesta on the 3 rd of May every year.

Property is less expensive than the larger towns, the people are friendly and helpful.

There are two supermarkets within the town and a market on a Saturday.

.I would suggest you get a decent solicitor I recommend Moniz in Albatera who are fluent in English and not as expensive as Spanish solicitors. We also have a tourist office in the town

that runs good trips to different locations and are reasonably priced. Some of the bars in the town for example Peques in the square in Mahoya have held the same prices for 12 years. You can get coffee with brandy for 1 Euro.

Hi Angie, sorry to bother you but how well do you know Fortuna as we’re thinking of a property there ? Are there plenty of amenities and is the area generally safe with friendly people? I’d also like to learn Spanish and take my self taught knowledge to a more professional level. Are there courses around that you know of or personal tutors for example in the area?  Any advice would be really helpful as we arrive Spain on Monday. Thanks in advance
