Hi once again I need some advice. I’m a keen angler and I bought a fishing license and insurance this week for the Murcia region. I fished this morning in the Argos. I was loose feeding bait. Another angler stopped to talk to me and informed me that even though I had a permit if the environmental people come around and seen I was loose feeding I could be in serious trouble. He informed me I need to join a club to get around this as I could say I was practicing for a match. Two bailiffs turned up later and checked my permit but said nothing about me loose feeding. I don’t know what to believe  now!    Regards Harry

You can loose feed, only by hand, not a catapult. You can’t use a keepnet as either. Soprona, environmental police, ie bailiffs (same powers as normal police and carry guns!) aren’t always clued up on all the rules. We had a match there yesterday and they were giving us grief as our licenses and fed cards had our passport numbers on but we didn’t have them with us (who carries their passport fishing!), even though we had TIEs and driving licenses with our pictures on!
However, if you get a Murcia Federation card you can do both of these. A fed card costs €40, and are mostly purchased as you eligible to then fish matches. There are 3 clubs who have matches there; Abbey Angling, Rods and Reels and Carp R Us. All have a website and cost c€20/year.

BTW, if you purchase a fed card this gives you the insurance for your license, so no need to buy insurance separately.

Hope this helps? I’m in all the clubs, so you’re welcome to pm me for more info.

Hi Nick, thanks for that. Talk about confusing! Obviously as I’ve purchased a permit I was obligated to take out insurance too. I would be grateful for any info on joining one of these clubs so that I have a fed card. I must admit when the guy told me about loose feeding it really took the shine off the day even though the bailiffs said nothing. Btw they did ask me for my passport and luckily because I’ve not changed over my driving license yet I was advised to carry it. Thanks again

Regards Harry

Hi Trevor, don’t know if of any help but I purchased mine in the gun shop in Calasparra. Just had to go back next day to collect it.
