Sounds like it is full of junk.

First check that your internet connection is giving you good speeds by using something like this.

Download & run the FREE version of Malwarebytes.

Download & run the FREE version of Revo Uninstaller.

https://www.revouninstaller.com/products/revo-uninstaller-free/

If it is a Windows laptop remove any anti virus software such as Norton / Avast /McAfee.

Just use Windows Defender, it is just as good, costs you nothing & does not slow your laptop down.

Try all of the above & if it is still slow then it may be time to take it to a professional.

What specifically do you mean by slow?

Applications taking a long time to load & work?
Internet pages slow to load and refresh?

A major cause of such issues is loads of Internet browser data in cache memory. It's a good idea to clear your Internet browser cache & cookies regularly.
Another is having lots of Internet browser tabs open, especially if they are connected to busy memory hungry websites.
