Stay at home! Health or money....that is the question. I know P & O and DFDS will allow you to cancel and give credit notes for the future, ask your ferry company what they will do. I cancelled my travel plans as there are too many unknowns. At least Spain has shown leadership and is actually...

... putting plans into action, unlike Britain!

Good rely, bang on.

Hi Everyone

This is the strangest of times for us all I would guess.  Up and until the recent spread of the virus,  my wife and I had been planning for our retirement   We have been researching and reviewing the potential next stage and location of our life for nearly 2 years.   We have s...

...ettled upon a location familiar to many of you and over the coming months we were set upon travelling over and staying before considering our options.  All of this was dependant on a number of other parts of our plan coming together.  This included our house in the UK going on sale and us arranging out retirement plans.

It is really weird that what we thought was a formality and a matter of timing is potentially undone by a Pandemic never seen in a generation.

We hope that the on-set of summer will eradicate the worst affects of this devastating virus but more importantly that we watch out for those vulnerable and in need of help.

What we have noticed by following the various channels of information is that Camposol has a excellent reputation for its community spirit and support for one another and this particular challenge is one that needs everyone to pull together.

As some may say!  "a short term of pain will eventually lead to everyone's gain" so whilst we all put current plans on hold let's look to the future and hope for the best and consider those less fortunate then ourselves.

 P.

Hi Paul 101.

This will have lasting effects for years, not months.

Times will change drastically, and so will decisions of Governments and its people.

The EU as we know it will change completely, and probably will no longer exist, just down to finance alone.

Ok, we cannot be sure, but it is obvious that nothing will be the same.

The community we have on Camposol is fantastic, and yes we will all help each other, even those coming across from the Country Club as they have been to shop.

When it comes down to it, we are all in the same mess, and when finally this all ends no one will ever have the right again to criticize Camposol, and its great residents.

All respect to the local police, and indeed to the manager of our Consum, who has put in place measures to help all shoppers, well done.

Now its up to us to do the rest, as I know we all will.

In such times, its the proof that all those who have given us a bad name in the past, will realize how very wrong they were.

Hi Everyone

At the risk of being castigated by the usual crowd of snowflakes,as an outspoken provocateur -  I really must voice my doubts as to whether these supposedly essential measures being imposed on us all are not a little bit over the top.? Of course, protect the vulnerable amongst us , BUT, can't fit and healthy people be allowed to decide for themselves whether they will take the risk of carrying on with normal life, earning their living, having social contact etc.etc. So what, if you do get the virus? The majority of people will be unaffected by it; and those that do contract it will survive. Probably with immunity for the future. Please let us all take responsibility for OURSELVES!

Christine 75,

don’t procrastinate any longer......go to the pub, hop into the car and drive or catch a plane...and let us know how you get on!

Big risk that you'd survive the virus and end up with lifelong immunity...

😠🙄

So what was the point of your post other than to be provocative? What is it that you don't understand about this global crisis?

This forum should be used to pull people together, particularly at times like this, but I'm afraid your ranting does absolutely nothing....other than getting something off your chest!

Yep thought that, luckily finally managed to get Brittany ferries to answer phones, after 4 days and hours on hold, and phones going flat while holding, then next phone you end up back off queue again, said I could travel Saturday to Santander on conemmara ferry, I said what’s the point going over, when all off spain is in lock down, probably won’t be allowed off boat. Do they have now issued me with a voucher that last 2 years, but so far May and June fully booked, to Santander. Now try again to get easyJet to answer their phones to cancel return flight in April, may the lord have mercy on my soul, as my patience will be tested yet again, but good news due to house phones going flat we brought 4 new ones might stay charged longer, keep safe camposol and don’t show us brits up, like those morons along the coast, the other day on the news ignoring the police to go back to their apartments.

We did not have to think about flying.

We were supposed to fly over in April, but have moved the flights over until June/July. If we have to move them again so be it.  We'd rather be safe and also keep the residents of Camposol  safe too. You only have one life.

" Now try again to get easyJet to answer their phones to cancel return flight in April, "

Surely you are better just waiting for them to cancel and give refund - unless you mean defer rather than cancel?
