Hi I have a villa on sector D in camposol, so I know camposol very well, and also 69 years old myself. Are the car registration offices all closed too as need to change a Spanish reg car I brought in Uk to my name. And get it itv’d which I was hoping to do on 25th off this month in Santander so...

...on as I get off ferry, at 7pm as saying online itv centre open till 9 pm, but are they open or closed due to this virus, god this has really thrown the spanner in the works, as could get the virus here or Spain or not at all. Any bees in registering car would be a help too thanks

Stay at home! Health or money....that is the question. I know P & O and DFDS will allow you to cancel and give credit notes for the future, ask your ferry company what they will do. I cancelled my travel plans as there are too many unknowns. At least Spain has shown leadership and is actually putting plans into action, unlike Britain!

There's a simple message for EVERYONE.... STAY AT HOME. Absolutely no travel. End of story. Whether it's UK or SPAIN  Stay at home and let this thing kill itself out. You are putting lives of doctors n nurses at risk by travelling anywhere

easyJet have waived their change fee so you should be easily able to rebook your flight online......good decision....

maybe give it more than a month....a couple might be the wiser decision.....

Hi Everyone

This is the strangest of times for us all I would guess.  Up and until the recent spread of the virus,  my wife and I had been planning for our retirement   We have been researching and reviewing the potential next stage and location of our life for nearly 2 years.   We have settled upon a location familiar to many of you and over the coming months we were set upon travelling over and staying before considering our options.  All of this was dependant on a number of other parts of our plan coming together.  This included our house in the UK going on sale and us arranging out retirement plans.

It is really weird that what we thought was a formality and a matter of timing is potentially undone by a Pandemic never seen in a generation.

We hope that the on-set of summer will eradicate the worst affects of this devastating virus but more importantly that we watch out for those vulnerable and in need of help.

What we have noticed by following the various channels of information is that Camposol has a excellent reputation for its community spirit and support for one another and this particular challenge is one that needs everyone to pull together.

As some may say!  "a short term of pain will eventually lead to everyone's gain" so whilst we all put current plans on hold let's look to the future and hope for the best and consider those less fortunate then ourselves.

 P.

@Jtb the OP.........

You should wait for your flights or ferry crossings etc to be cancelled by the companies concerned.

That way you 'should' get a refund or alternatives.

Bang on.

Nice sentiments , Paul 101.  -  It's true , everyones lives have been, or will shortly be, disrupted by this weird virus. Some more than others The ones already in ill.health, who are more vulnerable have my sympathy. -  I fail to understand the reasoning of certain people who leave an infected area only to infect other areas - .Selfish! selfish! selfish!  Murcia area is now in lockdown due to the actions of thoughtless, and ,selfish people who knowingly came here to escape their own lockdown situation, only to create another similar situation for us. I think it's a good thing these types are now being prevented from travelling, as it is the only way to control them. -  Should have been implemented sooner !

I am trying to stay safe, but the virus can get me here as well. There is no where safe now, if I need to cancel I will, but life has to go on, but all advice taken and will see nearer the date what decision to make thanks for your input.

You're still not getting it. It's not just about whether you get the virus it's about who you pass it on to. Bearing in mind the huge numbers of elderly residents here you need to take a more responsible attitude to others, not just yourself. I'd wait and see what unfolds before taking any decision BUT just to stress the point, it's not just about you it's about everyone else as well. Can't stress this enough.

The EU have advised only essential travel for 30 days. This is not essential, personally I'd cancel with both operators, if they refuse refund, contact credit card company if paid by credit card. Hopefully they will offer alternative dates for you after the 30 days.
