So me and my wife are booked for some viewings in Camposol as well as other areas in Spain, question is, my wife is from Republic of Ireland, and me from the UK will we be able to buy and live in Spain 🇪🇸 After 31st Dec ? My wife being a European citizen ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks Wayne and Dolores

It's advisable to go and see a Spanish solicitor ...and let them sort out all the residents red tape for you ...if you speak fluent Spanish ...you will still need help with the complex paperwork . even if you are both classed as EU citizens you will still need to provide the financial requirements to stay permanent in Spain... a long with either a legal long term rental contract or the Escutura (deeds) to the property you own  ...  if you are classed as a EU citizen you will still need to have private health insurance in place if you are under your country of origins retirement age ...you can't apply for residents status using the EU emergency health treatment card ...or the EHIC as it's know as in the UK...your application will be a complex one as sounds like you will be looking at the Irish Republic to pay for your health care in Spain I think you will find that you would need to have paid in sufficient contributions in the form of N.I in the Republic of Ireland for them to fund your free health care in Spain..the UK will no longer pay the Spanish government for any UK OAPs health care after January 2021..they will need to pay for private health insurance if they want to move to Spain after January 2021.
