Hi

After December 31st our E111 Medical Cards will no longer be valid in Spain if as is looking likely we have a no deal Brexit, has anybody got any information regarding travel insurance for regular visitors to Spain such as a yearly premium insurance policy that covers all eventualities listed on The UK Government Webite including flights or travel back to the UK in the event of illness or injury which stops your normal travel arrangements.

Phil.

I have just started using Staysure.

Changed to them this year after the travel insurer that I had used for years changed the rules re travel against FCO advice.

Staysure was one of the few companies that allowed it & at a sensible price.

If you perhaps decide to use them search for a discount code for them online.

They always have a 15% code somewhere online.

Several UK banks offer the required product, usually packaged with car breakdown insurance, etc.

We have Residency/DKV now, but before we were here (more-or-less) permanently, we relied on our insurance from Smile Bank (a Co-op brand). It is good value.

From memory, we were allowed as many trips in any year as we wanted, but each individual trip could not exceed 45 days. We could travel anywhere, except war zones.

My wife was taken ill in the USA. She received excellent healthcare, and our outgoings were very low (the insurance paid). But, when I phoned to explain what was going on, and to seek advice on how to proceed, the first thing the insurance company asked for was evidence of outbound/return flights, to check that we were not exceeding/did not plan to exceed the 45 day limit.
