The passenger numbers at Covera for 2023 were 877,796, up 4.6% on 2022. It is worth noting that San Javier handled more than 2 million passengers at its peak.

There are a couple of factors that lead me to hope that numbers will increase in 2024. I read that there are some carriers interested in taking new slots at the airport, both internal and international. Also, the government has started an initiative for smaller airports in Spain that handle less ...

...then 3 million passengers. This initiative is to try and and attract more carriers to use these smaller airports. Essentially for the next 3 years any extra passenger numbers, over the previous years total, airline carriers will not have to pay airport passenger fees.

Whilst it is nice, at the moment, arriving at Corvera and being outside of the airport in 10-15 minutes and returning to catch your flight home an hour prior to departure and whizzing through security and passport control, due to the few flights currently handled each day, I don't think this can be profitable or viable in the long-term. So, I hope numbers increase and it gets much busier, for the local economy and to maintain the convenience for many travellers and property owners in the area.

If it gets busier I think the transport links and some of the other things that people have issues with will improve. The increased numbers will facilitate improvement.

I will continue using it as much as I can and recommend it to others travelling to the area.

Hi, I like Corvera, I don't like its isolation from the public services.

Alicante has a 50 minute bus ride into Murcia, and from there a 50 minute bus ride into Sucina, 10€

But Corvera? 50€ or 60€ for a taxi to Sucina.

An isolated airport won't do well. It has to be easy to use, easy to reach, and the road and rail facilities at Corvera are, at the moment, non existant.
