Just be very careful with electrical accessories. We have had a timer socket catch fire despite being rated as capable of handling 3500 watts, with only a lamp running from it. Most of the stuff is cr@p, some of it dangerously so. Buy items like that from a ferretería or big diy store - better still an electrical trade suppliers.

The Chinese have a very long history of trading and entrepreneurism, far longer than us Europeans. They are also very industrious. The cost of establishing a business in Spain is much lower than many countries and therefore Spain is attractive. Look over the border in France and there are very few of these establishments.....start-up costs in France are horrendous!

Sadly they also have a long history of sweat shops, no human rights, child labour, failure to manufacture to modern standards and laughing at european legislation.

No but we do need nails that don’t bend first time hit with a hammer, plastic items that don’t disintegrate after brief exposure to sun, etc. As for prices, I bought a laundry basket from .costco 4e95, same basket in ‘chinky 6e49, bought a K’Archer vac from Media Mart 79.95 euros exact same vac in Camposol ‘chinky’ 129.95 I couldn’t believe the mark up.

We use Amazon.es (& sometimes.co.uk) for many deliveries. Sometimes next day, rarely longer than they tell you when you order, good prices, cheerful service.

Haha, well said. We British like to call ourselves "expats" because we kid ourselves we are superior to other mere migrants. We are just immigrants too, we are just more fortunate than most Moroccans, Bulgarians etc in that we can usually afford to buy a roof over our heads and not have to worry where the next meal is coming from.
As to the Chinese shops, we have several in Cehegin. They can be useful but I've never heard of anyone being FORCED to use them.

It looks as though some of the posts on this thread regarding migrants have been deleted, so the thread doesn't make much sense now!
