Thanks but we used to run a small Victorian guest house and had quite a few problems with guests (and their kids) stuffing napkins, hand towel etc down the loo. Can play havoc with the plumbing.

This was common practice back in the 1960s , killed two birds with one stone you could have a good read and use the paper as it was intended for .

If you can't get toilet rolls , why not just wash yourself ? This is where you should take a leaf out of the book of the Spanish. There is no shortage of soap and water .

Oh yes it has..... I did this as a girl....nothing wrong with newspaper... we've all got spoiled rotten.

I think Stan’s suggestion was tongue in cheek. You seriously should not do this unless you want plumbing problems!! I remember newspaper being used in the outside loo on Steptoe and Son! Those were the days!
