I have been in Spain for 15 years and have had many a good Spanish meal in just as many good Spanish owned restaurants ...Paella ( any type ) is not a dish I would recommend to anyone.. unless you are on a tight budget.

Perhaps you should make it yourself, it's not difficult at all. And you put in all the ingredients you want and much more than in a restaurant. You can follow the steps on Youtube :-)

In case you haven't noticed ...you need money to live...you can't survive on fresh air and sunshine get real..supermarkets are the same price or more expensive in Spain ..the only things that are cheaper are fags and none branded booze .

Well There's a lot more to it than that. In terms of cost, you'll find car fuel a lot cheaper, council tax is significantly cheaper, eating out generally much cheaper. Quality of life, climate, sea air places to go etc. all better & local people very friendly and helpful. So much going for life on the Costa C谩lida.

I like to eat out, I like good food not swimming in olive oil

Olive oil is very good for you and in general Spanish food is much healthier and more tasty than alternative diets. It is also quicker and easier to cook. I didn't always think so but I've adapted to Spanish food and far prefer it now

Exactly! The only food that is expensive is British food in cans and boxes because of the shipping cost But who wants to eat that if you can have it all fresh in Spain 馃

Well maybe she just wants the sun but not the food. She may not like it,  I do but not everyone does. People are different.
