Why is Brexit an issue. Absolutely nothing stopping you purchasing on Camposol at all.
I think Brexit has affected people's decisions regarding buying and moving to Spain.
People now think twice about purchasing a holiday property that they can no longer visit whenever and for as long as they wish. Also retirees looking to purchase a home and seek Spanish residency now face multiple hurdles to overcome not least the jump in financial requirements to gain residency.
Personally I know my past plans to retire and become a resident in Spain have now been shelved, probably for good. At 60 I started to backpack and explore Spain looking for my retirement home did my research on solicitors, surveyors the buying process etc and eventually settled on Camposol about three year ago. I stayed on Camposol a couple of times, some residents may remember seeing the small English lady walking from Calle Gor on D to and fro to the shops and yes it did make me realise that I would need a car as people on this site had said I would. I met up with Lee and Cristina from Mercers for a few viewings and got a pretty good overview of the lay of the land so to speak. Only had to wait the three years now until I reached 66 in 2022, sold the house, got my pensions and fulfilled my dream.
Then Brexit - yes my portion of the house sale will still buy me a small place on Sector D but both my company pension and state pension combined will not achieve the 27k required as annual income to obtain residency and I certainly won't put my money into buying a house I can only stay at for 3 months at a time twice a year, which would also require me to keep a home in the UK too.
The proceeds from the house sale are to be split three ways between myself and two children to help them get properties so yes some would say keep it all, even the children want me to do this as I would then reach the requirements no problem. However the dream was for me to retire to Spain in my own little house and to help both my children and unfortunately I'm not willing to sacrifice one part of the dream for the other.
So for me, and I suspect a fair few others too, Brexit has proved and issue but I do keep checking various sites including this one for any new information that may provide any glimmer of hope that one day I may get there.

Yes, you can definitely find a nice place to rent / stay through Lisa Taylor from Taylormade Property Management. She’s a great Keyholder on Camposol, Mazarron and Condado del Alhama.
thank you very much for reply

Not sure if you have seen it but last week the tourism minister for spain has started a conversation regarding returning to pre Brexit days to allow non residents to spend up to 183 days per year in Spain rather than the current 90 day restriction
He is claiming the Spain wants to have the British back and that the current rules are impacting the house purchases. He did of course ever to the fact that the UK did not change our rules for Euro visitors so they can still visit for up to 183 days so Spain want to be consistent
No idea how quick this change will take to materialise but at least the rhetoric has started
Might not be of much comfort for those who want to become residents rather than a 2nd homeowner but it does highlight how much Spain needs and values the British so you would fully expect other ideas and changes to follow.
All I will say is.
Don't let your dream die Maggie.
You've worked too hard to be dissapointed by red tape.
Hard yes, worth the hassle, undoubtedly yes, keep going on with your dream, in the end you'll get it, and won't regret it either.
Where's your British spirit, shoulders, deep breath, and say I'm doing this, and nothing is going to stop me.
